Basketball Game Preview: Mosley Dolphins vs. South Walton Seahawks

The Mosley Dolphins will take on the South Walton Seahawks at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Mosley lost to Choctawhatchee at home by a 66-52 margin. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Indians are ranked 141st).

Despite their loss, Mosley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. McKenzie Rimmer, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Faith Alvarado was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Mosley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, South Walton took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 52-22 win over Arnold. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Mosley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for South Walton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Mosley was dealt a bruising 61-34 defeat at the hands of South Walton when the teams last played back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mosley was down 38-15.
