Softball Recap: Orestimba's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of four wins, Orestimba's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Hughson Huskies by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

Belany Martens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Rae Oliveros was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Orestimba's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Hughson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

Orestimba will be playing at home against Turlock at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hughson, they will head out on the road to square off against Hilmar at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
