Lawrence Academy and Brooks pushed the score to 12-10 the last time they played Brooks, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Brooks 3-1. The Spartans haven't had any issues with Brooks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lawrence Academy got a great performance from Logan Forgie as he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Forgie has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Charlie Beauregard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Lawrence Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Brooks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lawrence Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Roxbury Latin at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.7, the Foxes 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Brooks will take on rival Buckingham Browne & Nichols at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
