Another player making a difference was A. Tomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

South Dade was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Varela lost 24-9 to Homestead on Thursday.

Varela's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for South Dade, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

South Dade took their victory against Varela in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
