League recap: South Robeson scores huge upset over West Columbus

The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Columbus, who took down 319th ranked West Columbus, 23-20. Anthony Galbreath ran for 82 yards in the win.

South Robeson's Galbreath rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A/1A Three Rivers this season in his game against the Vikings last week.

Harvey Lesane put up the best numbers through the air as West Columbus lost to the Mustangs. He finished with eight completions for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Lesane's favorite target this week was Ethan Morris, who caught two passes for 45 yards.

Shawn Williams was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 137 yards on 24 carries as St. Pauls fell to East Columbus. Jacob Locklear also contributed to the rushing game with 14 yards on the ground.

Livingston was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bulldogs fell to the Gators. Livingston tallied four receptions for 69 yards. Javon Crawford helped St. Pauls' passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.

Red Springs's Blake Greene and Zachary Leach have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A/1A Three Rivers in both passing and receiving yards. Greene has thrown for 2066 yards this season, while Leach, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 41 catches for 672 yards. St. Pauls' Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 1585.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Trey Sasser's team takes on Mark Little's team. The Bulldogs are in first place, while the Vikings are in fourth place.

The Red Devils moved up to 158 from 189 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Red Springs was able to make the jump by beating Fairmont 46-10.
