Recap: St. Helena Saints vs. Fort Bragg Timberwolves

After flying high against the Cloverdale Eagles last Friday, The St. Helena Saints came back down to earth. St. Helena fell 32-20 to Fort Bragg on Friday. St. Helena was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Bragg apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Despite the loss, St. Helena still got an impressive performance from Sam Beck, who rushed for 188 yards.

Fort Bragg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Nicholson out in front who rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 69 yards and a touchdown. Nicholson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Beau Hebden was another key contributor, rushing for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

St. Helena has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Fort Bragg, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

St. Helena will be playing at home against Kelseyville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kelseyville and St. Helena are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Fort Bragg, they will head out on the road to face off against Lower Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lower Lake comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
