Basketball Recap: Coral Park Takes a Loss

Coral Park suffered their biggest loss since January 8th on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 62-32 loss at the hands of the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Highlanders are ranked 41st).

Despite the loss, Coral Park still got an impressive performance from Angel Lara, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and three steals. Lara is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Coral Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lake Highland Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Park will welcome Westwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Windermere Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
