Volleyball Recap: Manawa Find Success

Manawa picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They skirted past the Augusta Beavers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Manawa got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Alayna Seeger paced Manawa's offense, picking up nine kills. Seeger got some help from Katelyn Krueger and her 15 assists. Krueger also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Adelyn Schertz, racking up three apiece.

Despite the loss, Augusta still got an impressive performance from Danica Wolfe, who had 17 digs and two aces.

The win got Manawa back to even at 11-11. As for Augusta, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Manawa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Athens on the 20th. As for Augusta, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Coulee Region Christian on the 20th.
