Volleyball Recap: Cypress Springs Comes Up Short

Cypress Springs lost against Fort Bend Austin back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayla Malone paced Cypress Springs' offense, picking up six kills. Malone got some help from Alyssa Suarez and her eight assists. Finally, Rayne Peavy and London Roche kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Cypress Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fort Bend Austin, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Cypress Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Cypress Lakes on the 16th. As for Fort Bend Austin, they will welcome Tomball Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
