Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smithfield). Everything went their way against the St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals on Saturday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won five in a row.

Sophia Parrillo was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Desjardins, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

Smithfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Smithfield's record is now 10-5. As for St. Mary Academy-Bay View, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, Smithfield will welcome Coventry at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Oakers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for St. Mary Academy-Bay View, they will head out on the road to square off against Scituate at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
