Softball Game Preview: Nature Coast Tech Sharks vs. Fivay Falcons

Nature Coast Tech has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fivay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Sharks will venture away from home to take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Nature Coast Tech managed to slip by The Villages Charter the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sharks lost 11-4 to the Buffalo on Friday.

Athena Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Fivay came up short against Weeki Wachee on Thursday, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.

Fivay saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Bozarth, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Fivay's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Nature Coast Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Everything went Nature Coast Tech's way against Fivay in their previous matchup back in March, as Nature Coast Tech made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
