Academy for Academic Excellence waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs by a score of 3-1. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cubs, too.

Academy for Academic Excellence walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 12-25, 25-22.

Brin Bryant paced Academy for Academic Excellence's offense, picking up 21 kills. Bryant got some help from Colbie Tworek and her 32 assists. Tworek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Academy for Academic Excellence's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Academy for Academic Excellence will host Barstow at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, they are taking a road trip to take on Norte Vista at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
