Basketball Game Preview: Newcastle Dogies vs. Burns Broncs

The Newcastle Dogies will face off against the Burns Broncs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Burns took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Newcastle, who comes in off a win.

Newcastle will bounce into Friday's match after beating Wheatland, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Newcastle beat Wheatland on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 44-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dogies.

Meanwhile, Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Pine Bluffs, falling 68-46.

Burns' loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Newcastle, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-10.

Newcastle strolled past Burns in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 47-31. Will Newcastle repeat their success, or does Burns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
