Softball Recap: Red Wing Takes a Loss

Red Wing managed to slip by Mayo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wingers lost 12-6 to the Spartans on Tuesday. The Wingers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Isabella Guetzlaff was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Camryn Zotalis was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Red Wing's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mayo, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Wing will welcome Faribault at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wingers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mayo, they will challenge Owatonna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
