Softball Recap: Pickerington North Wins Going Away Against New Albany

Pickerington North's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the New Albany Eagles 13-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mariah Gent spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Julia Deely was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 14 matchups. Sami Whitcraft was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Pickerington North's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for New Albany, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickerington North will face off against Marysville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Albany, they will take on Westerville Central at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Warhawks at the right time seeing as the Warhawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
