Softball Recap: Newman Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Newman Central Catholic lost against Erie-Prophetstown back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Comets lost 19-4 to the Panthers. The Comets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Amiya Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Newman Central Catholic's record now sits at 3-8. As for Erie-Prophetstown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Newman Central Catholic will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Bureau Valley at 4:30 p.m. Erie-Prophetstown will be paying especially close attention to the Comets' contest: after the Comets faces off against the Storm, they'll take on Erie-Prophetstown again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
