Volleyball Recap: Sheboygan South Takes a Loss

Sheboygan South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters. The Redwings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Resorters apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Sheboygan South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 28-18, 15-7.

Scarlett Smith paced Sheboygan South's offense, picking up ten kills. Smith got some help from Bianca Schneiderwent and her 14 assists. Schneiderwent also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Nienhuis, racking up four apiece.

Sheboygan South's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Sheboygan South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Sheboygan Falls on the 13th. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Howards Grove on the 13th.
