Volleyball Recap: Hershey's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Hershey lost against Dundy County-Stratton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Hershey was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16.

Alexis Pinkerton paced Hershey's offense, picking up six kills. Pinkerton got some help from Demi Damoude and her eight assists. Finally, Ella Becher kept Hershey's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Dundy County-Stratton was led to victory by Bree Lutz and Kimberly Escobar. Lutz had 15 assists and six digs, while Escobar had eight digs. Lutz is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Hershey's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Dundy County-Stratton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hershey and Dundy County-Stratton will both be playing Perkins County the next time they take the court. The Tigers will host the Plainsmen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
