Amarillo and Coronado are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Sandies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amarillo will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Coronado better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Amarillo's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Amarillo really gets things going. The Sandies were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over Palo Duro. Considering Amarillo have won 11 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Coronado scored the most goals they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Monterey, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Coronado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 725th, while Monterey are ranked 259th).

Amarillo's win bumped their record up to 14-1-1. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Amarillo got the 'W' when the teams last played back in January against Coronado by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Sandies repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
