Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Finds Playoff Glory Versus Redwood

St. Joseph had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Redwood Rangers on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Niko Peinado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Joseph saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayson Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. Dom Hernandez was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

St. Joseph's record now sits at 23-6. As for Redwood, they moved to 21-8 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

As of now, neither St. Joseph nor the Rangers have any future games scheduled.
