Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Dougherty Valley

The Berkeley Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkeley is coming into the match hot, having won their last 14 games.

Berkeley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Ukiah get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Dougherty Valley earned a 2-0 win over Acalanes on Saturday. The Wildcats' winning goal came courtesy of Brian Ayabe.

Berkeley's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. As for Dougherty Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Berkeley came up short against Dougherty Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Berkeley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
