Softball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Luther Knights. Even if the Spartans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Luther, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparta will take on Tomah at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Timberwolves will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Luther, they will be playing at home against West Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
