Softball Game Preview: Hollister Haybalers vs. Palma Chieftains

The Hollister Haybalers will venture away from home to square off against the Palma Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Hollister's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Palma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Hollister came up short against Willow Glen and fell 6-3.

Grace Peffley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Isabel Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Palma's offense. They lost 10-0 to Salinas on Wednesday. The Chieftains just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Palma's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Hollister, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Hollister skirted past Palma 3-2 when the teams last played last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Haybalers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
