West Wilkes won against Forbush on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Blackhawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the North Wilkes Vikings an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Blackhawks, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

West Wilkes is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for North Wilkes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Wilkes will venture away from home to challenge North Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blackhawks 3.1, the Greyhounds 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for North Wilkes, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wilkes Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
