Football Recap: South Iredell Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South Iredell had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Lake Norman Wildcats, falling 38-12. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.

Tristan Cowan threw for 118 yards on 12 of 23 attempts. Q Govan was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Landon Mcclain rushed for 98 yards and a pair of TDs.

As for Lake Norman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while South Iredell is ranked 151st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kaden Craft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 177 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Noah Jacobsen was in the mix as well, providing Lake Norman with two scores.

South Iredell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 47-29 loss against Statesville on the 17th. As for Lake Norman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 55-13 victory against North Iredell on the 17th.
