Softball Recap: Glenwood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Glenwood brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Montgomery Academy Eagles on Thursday. The Gators not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th.

Glenwood got a massive performance out of Claire Hargrove, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Hargrove a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Kirkland, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Glenwood moved to 6-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Montgomery Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Glenwood will challenge Smiths Station at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Montgomery Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Saint James at 5:00 p.m. on March 24th.
