Softball Recap: Oconto Falls Beats Little Chute for Their Third Straight Victory

Oconto Falls got themselves on the board against Little Chute on Tuesday, but Little Chute never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Randi Metzler was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Izzy Otto was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Holtz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Oconto Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little Chute only posted a batting average of .000.

The win was the third in a row for Oconto Falls, bringing their record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Little Chute, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Coincidentally, Oconto Falls and Little Chute will both be playing Wrightstown the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
