Softball Recap: Millburn Comes Up Short

If Millburn was feeling good fresh off their 18-2 takedown of East Side last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Millers lost 12-1 to the Verona Hillbillies on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Millers in their meetings with the Hillbillies: they've now lost nine in a row.

Millburn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexandra Bunch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Freya Temple also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Millburn now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Verona, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millburn will host Belleville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Verona, they will square off against Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
