Baseball Game Preview: Groveton Eagles vs. Littleton Crusaders

Groveton hasn't had much luck against Littleton recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. Groveton has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Groveton and Colebrook Academy meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Eagles came up short against the Mohawks, falling 21-11. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mohawks 6-0 in the first period.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Littleton and Woodsville, and Woodsville kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Engineers on Monday.

Groveton's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Littleton, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
