Preview: Beloit Trojans vs. Clay Center Tigers
Beloit is 8-1 against Clay Center since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Beloit Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Clay Center Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Beloit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Beloit took care of business in their home opener (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Concordia 82-53 at home.
Bryce Beisner was on fire: he scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Another player making a difference was Noah Gerstner, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assists.
Meanwhile, Clay Center had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The game between Clay Center and Rock Creek wasn't particularly close, with Clay Center falling 65-49.
Beloit's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Clay Center, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Beloit came up short against Clay Center when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 65-59. Can Beloit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
