Volleyball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Falls to Muncie Central in First Game of Season

Alexandria-Monroe had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Muncie Central Bearcats by a score of 3-2. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bearcats from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Alexandria-Monroe started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-13.

Daisy Bivens paced Alexandria-Monroe's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bivens got some help from Adah Hollingsworth and her 32 assists. Finally, Grace Wood kept Alexandria-Monroe's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Alexandria-Monroe has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Shenandoah on the 20th. As for Muncie Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Elwood on the 20th.
