Flag Football Game Preview: Glenbrook South Titans vs. Elk Grove Grenadiers

The Glenbrook South Titans will take on the Elk Grove Grenadiers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenbrook South's defense has only allowed 9.5 points per game this season, so Elk Grove's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Glenbrook South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Buffalo Grove 38-6. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Bison are ranked 46th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenbrook South can attribute much of their success to Sienna Gilles, who threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most passing yards Gilles has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Val Wilke, who gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns.

Glenbrook South's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Alexis Erickson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up five sacks all by herself. She was another major factor on D, picking up five sacks and making six total tackles.

Meanwhile, Elk Grove waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They skirted past the Spartans 8-6.

Glenbrook South's record now sits at 14-2. As for Elk Grove, their record is now 18-1.
