Volleyball Recap: Western Pioneers vs. Laguna Hills Hawks
Western saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Laguna Hills Hawks. Considering the last time the Pioneers couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.
Their offense was headlined by Alessandra Bernaola and Emily Rosas, who picked up four kills apiece. Bernaola really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five. Finally, Alexandra Caro kept Western's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Western's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Laguna Hills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-8.
Western has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Notre Dame on the 13th. As for Laguna Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Buena Park on the 13th.
