Baseball Recap: Holmes Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Holmes walked away with it. They came out on top against the Franklin Academy Patriots by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aces.

Myles Cobb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Holmes' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 10-5 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Cobb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Fisher Bobbitt was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hunter Lynch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Holmes' victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Franklin Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Holmes nor Franklin Academy have any future games scheduled.
