Basketball Recap: Kingsbury Comes Up Short

Kingsbury lost against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Kingsbury Falcons had to suffer through a 51-10 loss at the hands of the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix.

When it comes to explaining why Kingsbury lost, don't look at Maleah Ward. Despite the final result, she posted five points. That was a full 50% of Kingsbury's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

London Dyson was the offensive standout of the match as she earned 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaysia Peete, who put up six points and three steals.

Kingsbury's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Kingsbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-20 defeat against Memphis Central on the 14th. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering has also already played their next game, a 50-9 win against Hamilton on the 15th.
