While Rolling Meadows didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Elk Grove Grenadiers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Grenadiers: they've now won three in a row.

Rolling Meadows never let Elk Grove on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23.

Inti Zapata paced Rolling Meadows' offense, picking up nine kills. Zapata got some help from Landon Price and his 29 assists. Zapata also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Nikodem Opiola, each putting up two.

Rolling Meadows' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Elk Grove, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Rolling Meadows didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Streamwood on the 20th. As for Elk Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Yorkville on the 17th.
