Baseball Recap: Rattan Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Wright City

Rattan faced Wright City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Lumberjax. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Lumberjax: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kooper Johnson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Rattan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Rattan's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Wright City, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2.
