Baseball Recap: Weedsport Comes Up Short

Weedsport fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Central on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Weedsport saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Mickle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was Mickle's first of the season.

Weedsport is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Weedsport will welcome Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Central, they will challenge Hannibal at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
