Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Cougars vs. California Lutheran C-Hawks
Hawthorne saw some tournament action on Friday. They had to suffer through a 67-39 loss at the hands of the California Lutheran C-Hawks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
California Lutheran found their leader in sophomore Tyler Treder, who dropped a double-double with 43 points and 21 rebounds. The game was Treder's 17th in a row with at least 19 points. Ezra Seow was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 18 points in addition to eight boards and six assists.
Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for California Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Hawthorne will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Santa Monica at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2026. As for California Lutheran, they will be home for the holidays to greet Sherman Indian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
