Recap: Brookfield Academy Blue Knights vs. Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves
The Brookfield Academy Blue Knights suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Living Word Lutheran 60-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brookfield Academy has scored all season.
Brookfield Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison York, who scored 14 points, and Maddie Leschig who scored nine points.
Living Word Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleah Alles, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Delaney Winkelmann was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Brookfield Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Living Word Lutheran, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Brookfield Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brookfield Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Brookfield Central has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mayville at 7:15 p.m. Mayville is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
