It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hanford can now relate to. They fell just short of the Chiawana Riverhawks by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Jadyn Owens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Neve Jimenez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Hanford's loss dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Chiawana, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hanford will host Ferris on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saxons have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Chiawana, they will head out on the road to challenge Richland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bombers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Riverhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
