Baseball Recap: Stark County Find Success

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Stark County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Midland Timberwolves 7-6. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Landon Ouart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ouart was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Browning, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kaedon Steelman was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Stark County and bumps their season record up to 3-13. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Midland, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Stark County has already played their next game, a 32-12 loss against ROWVA/Williamsfield on the 23rd. As for Midland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against El Paso-Gridley on the 25th.
