Alcona had won 13 straight games and Ricky Schott did his part to make it 14 on Friday. The Alcona Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oscoda Owls, sneaking past 34-31 thanks in part to Schott, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 17 points. Those 17 points gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Garrett Somers, who posted seven points and nine boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played.

Alcona's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Oscoda, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcona will challenge Ogemaw Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oscoda, they will venture away from home to square off against Rogers City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
