Soccer Preview: Mitchell Hunts for Offense After a Cold Stretch

The Mitchell Mountaineers will head out to take on the Madison Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mitchell's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mitchell managed to keep up with Mountain Heritage until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mountaineers lost 6-0 to the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Madison's offense. They came up short against Owen, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Madison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 499th, while Owen are ranked 214th).

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's left a mark on their 5-13-1 record this season.
