Volleyball Recap: Delaney Johnson Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Lakewood Park Christian lost to Churubusco back in August of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Panthers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0.

Lakewood Park Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delaney Johnson, who had 11 digs. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Lakewood Park Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Churubusco only served two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Churubusco lost, don't look at Mckayla Reuter. Despite the final result, she had 11 assists and eight digs.

Lakewood Park Christian's record is now 5-2. As for Churubusco, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Lakewood Park Christian and Churubusco will both be playing Fort Wayne Bishop Luers the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
