Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph's Catholic vs. Christ Church Episcopal

The St. Joseph's Catholic Knights will challenge the Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph's Catholic's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

St. Joseph's Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Powdersville, who was ranked tenth at the time (St. Joseph's Catholic was ranked 17th). The Knights fell 2-0 to the Patriots on Monday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but St. Joseph's Catholic couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten goals the game before, Christ Church Episcopal was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Powdersville by a score of 1-0.

Christ Church Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

St. Joseph's Catholic beat Christ Church Episcopal by a goal when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
