Baseball Recap: Aptos Comes Up Short

Aptos fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Palma on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chieftains by a score of 9-8. The Mariners just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Dom Castillo and Cole McGillicuddy did some serious damage despite the final result: Castillo went 2-for-4 with two runs, while McGillicuddy went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Aptos is 5-1 when McGillicuddy posts two or more runs, but 5-16 otherwise.

Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Palma, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Aptos nor Palma have any future games scheduled.
