Baseball Recap: Gretna Takes a Loss

Gretna fell victim to Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy by a score of 2-0. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Gretna got a good showing from Jaxon Nielsen, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The Dragons are 6-3 when Nielsen allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-12 otherwise.

Gretna has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

As of now, neither Gretna nor Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
