Volleyball Recap: St. Clair Bulldogs vs. Festus Tigers

After flying high against Montgomery County on Tuesday, St. Clair came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Festus Tigers on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

St. Clair was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Festus work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 24-26, 27-25, 25-22.

St. Clair's loss came despite strong showings from Lianah McDonald and Kylee Brandt. McDonald had 22 digs, while Brandt had 21 digs, 12 kills, and one block. Brandt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Festus was led to victory by Lauren Whitehead and Maggie Drury. Whitehead had 21 assists and six digs, while Drury had ten digs and three aces. That's the most assists Whitehead has posted over her last ten matches.
