Softball Game Preview: Corning-Painted Post Hawks vs. Lancaster Redskins

The Corning-Painted Post Hawks will square off against the Lancaster Redskins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Corning-Painted Post sitting on 18 straight wins and Lancaster on nine.

Corning-Painted Post is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Newburgh Free Academy 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since April 7th.

14 must be Lancaster's lucky number: they beat Rush-Henrietta with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Redskins beat the Royal Comets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-3. Considering the Redskins have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Corning-Painted Post's win bumped their record up to 18-0. As for Lancaster, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
